Dr. Kanav Markan grew up in Millersville, Anne Arundel County, and is proud to continue caring for the same community that shaped him. After earning his medical degree, he came full circle by completing his Internal Medicine residency at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, where he developed a deep appreciation for the personal connections that define exceptional primary care.
During his residency, Dr. Markan was honored with Anne Arundel Medical Center’s Humanism in Medicine Award, presented annually to residents who exemplify empathy, compassion, and a patient-centered approach to care.
Now practicing in Glen Burnie, Dr. Markan provides comprehensive, evidence-based primary care to adults of all ages. His philosophy combines clinical excellence with genuine compassion—focusing on prevention, healthy lifestyle guidance, and empowering patients to take an active role in their health and well-being.
In his free time, Dr. Markan enjoys spending time with his family and friends, as well as playing tennis, fishing, watching football and combat sports.
